18 years of leadership

In these 18 years of leadership by the now 62-year-old Takens, Accell Group has grown into a leading multinational in the bicycle and e-bike sector. He can also be regarded as the one that pushed electric bicycles to great heights. Within Accell he made investments available for the development of the company’s own ION e-bike drive systems. Currently e-bikes account for over 40% of Accell Group’s total turnover of about 1 billion euro.

Deutsch sprechen? Mehr über den Accell ION Drive:

Includes:
Instead of working with manufacturers from the PRC as before, Accell has found a new partner for the heart of the engine, the engine itself, with Yamaha.

... and:
Surveys have shown that the noise level of the e-bike drive is an enormous factor in the purchase decision, especially for leisure drivers. Therefore, Sparta has invested a lot in testing equipment to run its version of a mid-engine as quietly as possible.

For the ION there is now a separate motor cover, which is to shield a large part of the noise produced inside. In addition, Accell changed the cream design of the Sparta E-Bikes. The suspension of the ION is also re-designed for the new model year, just like the connection between the engine and the chain guard. The interplay and arrangement of the innards of the drive are new and the control by the ION software has been adapted solely with the aim of reducing engine noise.
