Transport for London has launched an appeal to electric bicycle industry brands to take part in various initiatives to bring about behaviour change in the UK capital.

Inviting those e-Bike brands and retailers to submit proposals on how the Capital might lure people onto the bikes, TfL are looking for partners to offer test rides, special offers on product, finance deals, test ride data and any other ideas bike business may bring to the table to drive active travel shifts.

London is slowly making inroads in catering for active travel, with ridership on key segregated arteries significantly rising since being made safer for users.

Brands interested in submitting their interest must speak to TfL’s Chris Mather and fill out a proposal form by September 30th.

Can suggest... Currently in Toronto one can finance the purchase of one new power-assisted bicycle - Euro "electric pedal-assisted `cycle - where monthly loan payments are about HALF of a monthly transit pass. So. London UK "pumps out" one-two styles of bikes and trikes in "London buses colours" and FLOODS their local "urban neighbourhoods" with their bikes INSTEAD of investing in more trains, buses, "trolleys", etc. Give `em GPS Trackers... And lock/unlock motors using Bluetooth short-range tech. Just walk up to one, yer device "unlocks" the bike and ya get on and ride off. Get off and walk away and loss of Bluetooth re-locks the bike/trike.

:)
