Is this normal for a motor to do? Video clip

Post by ebike11 » Aug 24 2019 9:32am

Hi guys
I just had the cover off of my qs205 to install ferrofluid. I noticed there is slight play/movement from side to side. Is this normal or should the motor be solid in place? Thanks

This is perfectly normal, the axle is held firmly by the two sidecovers, with just one sidecover it's impossible for one bearing to keep the axle from moving a little.

Yep. there is suppose to be an air gap all the way around, between the stator and the ring of magnets. But they are powerful magnets. with one cover removed, they will pull the stator to one side.
