Hi....
I got a 1500 watts leaf bike kit with a lcd 3 screen and a 40 amps. controller
with 48 volts 20 ah. battery.

With the Lcd 3 setting to C5, we can reduce the exit of maximum current of controller.

1- If I reduce the setting C5 to the 8 value instead of 10 who is the maximum value : Do I risk to have a problem with the controller if I climb a big hill ????

2- My capacitor 63 volts inside of controller has exploded. If I climb a big hill
with the c5 setting at the 8 value and 2 motor phases wires come in short circuit
at the connectors : iS THIS SHORT CIRCUIT CAN MAKE EXPLODE THE CAPACITOR
INSIDE THE CONTROLLER ??????

3- What can make explode a 63 volts capacitor inside a controller ?????
( the motor is ok. I changed the controller and all is number 1)

Thank you very much for answering my 3 questions.....

So you reprogrammed your controller, think you may have touched your phase wires, and also rode up a hill. Ok...

No reprogramming the controller won't damage it, even on a hill.

If you think your phase wires touched, that could cause problems.

Those controllers use junk caps and they can explode just because they suck.

Thank you for your fast answer...

You think that programed the controller c5 to 8 instead of 10 who is the
maximum won't failed the capacitor ?

Thank you !

If Leaf is still supplying KT controllers, the fact you blew a cap is unusual in my experience, but I should qualify that by saying I don't spend a lot of my time pulling 1500+ watts. I'm a little more conservative than that.
