BBSHD Controller not programmable

I ended up frying my BBSHD Controller, while playing around, getting the wiring for this COP Box right. Then I recently received the new one, ordered from Aliexpress. For some reason I'm not able to use the programmed settings. I'm flashing them, but when I try to ride my bike it's back to the factory settings. When I hook it back up to the pc and I read from the controller, it's showing my settings. It's this Controller.

My settings make 100% speed on Level 1-8 available, but riding after flashing shows, that it's not programming.
Here's a video, showing the behaviour: https://youtu.be/8dGa0GUQMx8

I tried to flash this firmware fix for 52V issues, but it didn't help: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=100064 The aliexpress seller told me, that I'm not supposed to reprogramm and they don't know anything about that issue:
Our controller support for programming, but we do not know how to program. We do not suggest you to program by yourself,if you program it, then the controller can not work,we can not provide after-sales service. Tks for your cooperation.

I'm using an FTDI 232 USB Serial Converter and Penoff Tool v2 (click on the images, for detailed view):

Maybe you should just buy an https://eggbikes.com/eggrider .
Works perfectly on my BBSHD and both of my BBS02s=B's too.
You can set it so you have both an off road and a legal setting and it can be locked to legal so the law cant change it.

I've had problems with some of the FTDI USB adapters. The Bafang controller needs the "low" signal to be really low, like less than 0.3v, but some of the adapters don't pull down low enough. In one case I was able to make one work by adding a 10k resistor from the TX line to ground to make it go a little lower. The "low" threshold may vary from unit to unit and sometimes the adapter would sort of work but it was just on the edge of working and wasn't consistent.

Edit: I can't remember for sure if the resistor was 10k or 1k but it looks like 10k in the picture.

Thanks, but that's not what I'm asking for here. I like the challenge to reprogram it on the fly. I'm also planning to use the Mega 2560 for controlling the brake light system (https://imgur.com/a/viOtKUI). Maybe I switch to eggrider for testing purposes in the future.

Didn't know that. I never encountered such issues. The thing is, previous Bafang Controller I had worked perfectly fine, but when I reprogram this one, the new config simply won't apply..

I tried using the previously mentioned cop box. It's successfully writing and the controller is also responding with a successful answer, but still the same issues. Config is not applying.

I haven’t heard of that issue before but it’s possible they locked it in firmware to prevent reprogramming.
