I have been using 40v tool pack batteries on my downhill bikes for years. This is with a modded huatong 72v controller to lower the lvc. All has been great with this setup for years but im now taking both my sons on rides 3 and 4 year old. One on a seat near the head tube and one on a weehoo tag along.

Anyway the extra load on these 4ah 40v packs is putting probably alot more duty than they are designed for. I have an idea i want to try which is to parrallel them but use a digital dcdc in between each battery and the controlled. Something like the bst900 which is 900w and has digital voltage and current limiting. The reasoning it to hopefully mitigate the issue of one of the parallel pack supplying too much of the load and living a shorter life as a consequence.

I know i could invest in a bigger battery but i like my modular approach and if this works as a concept i may use it in other areas.

I am not certain but the car battery startup ample might have a similar approach.

Any expert guidance would be much appreciated.
