Hello,
Trying to repair a Liberte folder ebike that stopped working although almost new.
Using one of these ebike testing boxes I believe the motor, crank sensor and power level selector panel all seem to check out so by process of elimination now suspecting controller.
It is pedal assist set up with no throttle, when I looked up this Tianjin Santroll controller they were selling for £150?

I am trying to understand what type of controllers may work for this bike.
If a controller is supplied with throttle cables does that mean it won't work without a throttle?

Thanks for any advice on my ebike schooling.

Dumb question but have you tried unplugging and replugging all the connectors? Sometimes you get a bad connection. Also check that you are getting battery voltage. Presume no display on this one?
You can also unplug the motor connectors, check if the motor spins ok backwards and measure for a short between the phases.

If the existing controller has a throttle input you can try connecting one temporarily to see if that works

If that doesn’t work; suggest you bin everything except the motor and convert it to use a KT controller with display and PAS. There is a S06P sensorless controller you can get dirt cheap with matching display, throttle, Torque simulation sensor which will fit the bill. Or a sensored variety if you have hall sensors.
