Hi all, I’m really desperate for help
:(
My e-bike is my sole mode of transport for my commute to work and I’m having big problems.

the bike is an ‘e-go lite+’
It developed a fault where the screen had too much condensation and I had to replace the LCD screen. FYI the screen is KT-LCD5

Now bike powers up however there is no pedal assist / cruise feature and I can’t ride it without the motor as it’s so heavy.

Does the LCD need programming? I’ve seen some YouTube videos about entering setup mode but I’m baffled what P1, P2, P3 etc means.

really need some help - I won’t be able to work without this

Yes you will need to program it. If you use the search field on this website there should be some guides.

Was the original screen the same brand and model? If not, the new display may not be able to communicate with the controller to change assist levels, etc., but the system should still operate at the default assist level of the controller.

If the original display was different, you may need one of those to make the system work as it did before. Otherwise, you may need to replace the controller with a KT-brand controller (to be compatible with the KT LCD).

If it is the same as the original screen, then you would just need to setup the various display parameters to match the system you have. There is a manual for that display available on the web; this is one random link from a google search for it:

this is the search

in case it is helpful.

Don't see any KT displays on the Eg-Go lite pictures. Like Amberwolf says, you have to buy a display that was designed for the controller in your bike.

People are often fooled because many ebike displays use the same connector, but they don't use the same communications protocol. so they will power on and do all the things in the user manual, but they cannot talk to the controller. If you try to use Walk mode, it will give a display error.
