Be VERY wary in your choice of wire... particularly car audio wire. That industry is full of frauds and mis-speced specs. My testing of car audio wiring showed many "100% pure oxygen free copper" wires (even from big names) was not. Some was plated aluminum at 1.6 times the resistance of copper. Others were mystery metal with over 3 times the resistance of copper.
Some 4 gauge wire was maybe 10 gauge, surrounded by lots of (cheap) insulation. You might think that you bought 4 gauge, but you got 8 or 10 gauge in disguise. In the heavy gauge (0 - 8 gauge) material, the Scosche EFX Flux cables and Excelene welder cables tested very well.
