I've been using a voltage regulator to supply power to my lighting setup. I've seen some on ebay but I can't quite figure them out from the translated english.

Can anyone tell me what the thrid adjuster is for on these voltage regualtors? I understand the voltage and current settings. The third I've seen described as battery capacity adjustment but I can't work out what it's getting at.

Where did you see this? It doesn't appear in the description you linked to.

My big fat guess is that this is for the input battery in an LED system - it cuts off the circuit when the supply voltage is low to prevent damage to the battery.

You will probably find that they only adjust the threshold of the LED for 'charger' systems (to indicate when the battery is 'full' - the current falls below a certain level). That's what the CH led is for.

In some chargers there is a third pot to adjust the cutoff based on decaying current. So once your current falls below the set current value, all power stops flowing.
