Hello! I've bought a front wheel electrificaton kit from a local bike mechanic who seems unwilling to help me further, so I turn here for some advice.

The kit works allright and the motor is powerful, but our problem is that the controller seems extremely stupid and triggerhappy with the assist function, and sends the bike flying out in the driveway if you just so much as touch the pedals a little while standing waitig for a green light. This happens even when backpedalling!

So, we're seeking a replacement controller that acts a bit less impulsive. Can anyone here give advise about what kind that might be compatible? Or just possibly advise of some other way of modify the behavior with current controller?

The kit consists of
* a 36V, 250W hub motor from YouE motors, this one:

* a controller from China Zipu , this one:

* 36V battery

* candence sensor for assist

* led display with power controls and walk assist paddle on handle bars

* hand brake with engine cut switch

Any help is greatly appreciated! :D

Any luck finding these? I need an upgrade for my Lunar Scooter style kick scooter. The oem one is not powerful enough to even use the fastest speed. It cuts out. I'm attempting to solder shunt enough to fix the problem but not sure if it's going to work.

Sounds like you have the opposite problem from the OP.

Regarding your problem of cutout at higher levels, it is possible that it is drawing too much power from teh battery, and either the battery's BMS (if it has one) or the controller's own LVC is triggered as the battery sags below that LVC.

They are sending a new battery, if that doesn't fix it, I'll try the two in parallel...
