Bafang Gear Hub Strange Noise No Assist

Does anyone recognize what the issue may be based on the noise this bafang motor is making in this video? The motor is activated by a dropout torque/cadence sensor and you can hear it revving up twice in the video. Other times it sounds energized, but not spinning the motor. The display, wire harness, controller, torque sensor has been replaced without fixing the issue. The bike does have over 5000 miles on it. Perhaps something worn inside the motor?

Either the clutch is failing or failed, or the controller is spinning the motor backwards (it freewheels in the reverse direction).

Some front Bafang BPM motors had the ring rear press fit into the hub case and others had it notched. This might be the case for the rear motors also. If your ring gear is press fit then it could be slipping.

I recieved a replacement wheel yesterday and so far it seems to be functioning normally.
