My Crystalyte H4080 axle is warped and needs replacement. Havent opened motor up yet before I have purchased all relevant parts.
Any tips to replacing the axle? Im hoping to avoid recabling the motor.
How do I get the axle off the rotor?
1 bearing inside each side plate. Any other axle bearings? Same size?
Probably need to design a bearings pull/push tool for the press.

Apreciate any help.
Motor done 10k miles so time to service

Thanks!

NMH there is heaps of info on the forum on how to do this.
My 2 second quick and nasty advice (no special tools required) is mark your side covers with respect of hub so you can assemble in exactly same rotation and side. They like to go back the same way else they can rub.
Next remove screws from wire side and remove side cover. Place wheel on solid ground (having removed nut) ensuring it is balanced on axle and is level. Push down with smooth strong movement (I use my hands then knees on rim while ensuring hands are free to guide and grab stator as it emerges) and 'bob's your uncle'. Remember, you want the force applied so it comes straight up, not dragged across your magnets. Bearings come out easily with a bit of heat on side covers.

Good luck.

Thanks 9Lives!
Parts are ordered.
Assume shaft is connected to the rotor by a key and spline?
