Adaptto Max-E Fault

Hey everyone,

My Max-E stopped working suddenly during a charge.

The symptoms are:

When charging the PSU is shorting and going into overheat protect mode whilst "no charge voltage" is displayed on the computer.
When trying to run the motor it just rocks back & forth.

So I see no errors on the display, and the wiring is all correct, intact and tested for continuity. The motor spins freely and it wasn't even hot at the time.

To me this suggests a problem with the FETs, but I can't see any visible damage to any of them so is it a case of replacing them one by one until the fault is found? Or is there a better way to narrow down the fault even further?

Thanks

This was pretty helpful. Narrowed it down to the 3 FETs connected to the +ve side of the phase with the charge input, DMM shows that all 3 have shorted. Parts ordered, should be back up and running in 48h :)

Replaced the FETs and now the motor just cogs slowly while the unit still gives charging errors.

Does anyone know someone who might be able to help troubleshoot this? Not getting anywhere with arranging a repair via Adaptto HQ 😕
