Running 2 BLDC ESC's in PARALLEL? Possible? Double Current?

I'm sure this has been thought of and asked about on here before (tried searching) however... Any way to run two ESC's in parallel to provide double the current?

Could something like paralleling the Batt +/-, Phase wires, Halls (only use one of the hall positives), and throttle (again only using one of the throttle +'s leaving the other one disconnected) enable twice the current (in theory) to be put out...assuming of course that you would be using two "identical" ESC's?

Obviously the cost would be much higher than modifying the current controller, or even just purchasing one designed to putout the desired current to begin with, HOWEVER If one controller was to suddenly stop working, you "should" still be able to use the other...though with half the current to make it back home?

Could they be set up in this way? I've seen it done with RC ESC's but have no idea if it would be possible with one of these?
