J1772 level 2 240v car charger to 120v for ebike charger?

Hello,

I have been looking around to see if anyone had done this but my search came up empty handed. I'm trying to take my ebike(scooter) for a trip across Ontario, Canada but don't want to rely on trying to find someone who will let me use their 120v outlet. In my mind all I should need to charge my ebike on one of those car charging stations is a J1772 socket and a 240v to 120v stepdown transformer. However, I feel as if it's more complicated then that.
