Hi!

I just got my first electric bike, nothing fancy but it works.
it is a :
http://www.biltema.se/sv/Fritid/Cykel/Cyklar/Elcykel/Hopfallbar-elcykel-20-7-vaxlar-2000034655/ (in Swedish only).
It is limited to 25km/h where it cuts out.

Is it possible to remove the speed limitation or possibly alter it?

They have removed the logo from the motor but it says:
Bfswxb24v200w255r 20-148097968 on it so it is a Bafang.
Some say that there is a magnet inside of the cover that records the speed, and if it is removed - the motor won't cut out at 25km/h, correct?
But if it is removed it won't be reversible. Is it possible to get a hold of a cover without the magnet?

The controller is labled:

As i pulled it out of the frame i found this connector with a silicone cover on it:

Could it be a communication port - and if it is - is there any way of altering the settings?

Best regards - Newbie

Hi, most controller have two or three wiers that you can bridge/short to change the speed restriction. On my ebike i added a throttle and that worked great, no speed restriction at all. But the speed depends on the voltages on the battery, and 24 is rather low. I think max speed on 24 is around 32km/h. So if you want to ride fast you can upgrade the battery, most 24v controller can handle much higer voltage, just check caps and mosfets to see there max V rating.

Kan ta det på svenska om jag uttryckte mig dåligt//

That connector is for programming, but I've never seen any software to use it. The controller is a Lishui, which is very common in OEM 250w bikes. It's not very usual for them to have the pair of speed limit wires, though it's always worth looking to see. They will be a pair of single wires connected together in a loop. Sometimes you connect them and sometimes disconnect them to release the speed limit.

The most common way that you can access the speed limit on those controllers is through the LCD if you have one. if you do, show a picture of it because there's a lot of different ones with different buttons.

If you find the single wires (maybe grey), let us know.
