Not a glory but i recently put a BBSHD on a 2015 specialised demo8, the BB is 83 mm so i went with the 100mm motor, I used an eccentric bb to get a better clearance between the axle and bb shell, this allowed me to rotate the BBSHD further forward getting better ground clearance.
I looked into getting a glory for this build but it looks like where the down tube attaches to the BB it curves down quite low so the motor would have to sit directly below the BB. This might not be a problem but this is the reason I went for the Demo instead.
Would be interesting to see the pics of this glory.
I did not mount the battery on the bike, i have an 8ga cable with xc90 connectors into a backpack with a 17.5 ah battery pack.
The bike is powerful, quiet, and looks like a normal bike.
I had to do some upgrades to the cassette to get a better chain line which will also probably apply to a glory build. The demo has a 10 speed cassette so i just upgraded this to an 11-36, with a lekkie 42 chainring it has good chain line and i can happliy use all gears.
Top speed on the flat is 54kph, and can climb steep single track. Mows down any track like a downhill buke would, just a little heavier.
If i was building another bike and wanted the battery on the frame i would go for an enduro bike where the battery can mount in the triangle, like a reign or something.
It depends on the type of riding you are going to do. The last ride I did was after a recent rain and the tracks were muddy as hell, the bike got absolutley filthy, everything was fine with the BBSHD but i have been doing some precautionary waterproofing of the cables and connectors since this ride. If I had had the battery on the frame I would have wanted it to be pretty darn water / mud resistant in conditions like this.
The best thing you can do is give it a go. When I did the demo8 build, i always had the thought in my head that it might not work, but I made sure the things i bought would be compatible with other, more normal bikes, i was prepared to sell the DH bike and put it on something else if it ended up not working.
