Rear Wheel Battery

Post by Pfnyq » Sep 30 2017 7:11am

This is a rear 10s battery with a built in bms, im taking it out because im going too use a 14s homemade pack. I have never seen one before so i thought i could share some pictures.
The bike is a L5 Raptor https://outl1.se/elcykel-mountainbike-l5-raptor I will not have my new battery in the rear wheel, it feels werd. What do you think of the rear wheel battery design?

I believe hub mounted battery pack is one of the dumbest things ever attempted for eBikes. Give 'em credit for trying but seriously, what a mess when something goes wrong.

what mess, where mess?? on what do you base that expert opinion on exactly?
don't know how good/bad this particular flavour is but i got almost 5k problem free miles out of my front hub battery (as did many more of the 1500+ Tidalforce owners) & 3k miles more after replacing few of the weak cells before the pack was done for needing complete replacement.
same as with any other pack.
unless you want to share your bad experience with a hub battery (which even if so makes it a rare isolated event) then your chalo-grade armchair opinion is totally worthless to blanket indict hub mounted batteries completely out of hand.

great pix btw.
thanx for those as i'm attempting to build my own.

Hello, sorry for bumping 1 year old thread. But this is seriously cool.
What are the dimensions and weigth of this thing. Can it fit into front wheel ?
Thank you very much.
