DB25 solderless, how glue?

So I bought this DB25 solderless connector for my balance plugs. It will be permanently in my bike. I am wondering if I should hot glue the wires and screws as a precaution to the vibration working either the wires or screws out?

First time I've seen a db25 with screw type terminals, but it wouldn't hurt to use a potting compound once all the wires are secure. Same for solder type.for added strain relief.
 
The potting compound would serve the dual purpose of preventing stuff from loosening from vibration and, just as important, keeping water out of your connector. If you applied the hot glue evenly enough and made sure it squished into the tight areas (without gaps), then that should be fine. Or if this connector is going to be inside of a larger enclosure that will prevent water from getting to the connector, then hot glue should be fine. Then again, if this will be in a larger waterproof enclosure, you could just use thread lock on the screws to keep them from backing out with vibration.

However if this will be exposed to the elements, then fully potting the inside of the connector is a better idea. Imagine being caught in the worst rain you can imagine in the middle of your ride: Will your connector keep the water out?

For a less expensive potting solution, you can use liquid tape to pot the inside, but if you do, then be sure to let the liquid tape dry and cure fully before applying any power to the connector. In a use case like this, liquid tape could take several days to fully cure before being safe—it dries very slowly.

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, this connector isn't waterproof at the junction point where the 2 halves connect anyway. So, I wouldn't recommend this in a situation where the connector could get wet in any scenario.
 
thanks for the detailed answer zro-1. It will be internal and shielded from water. The screws are captive and does not unscrew above the surface. Even from the cable opening; it is using some kind of flat press piece when you screw from the top, kind of like an elevator. This leaves me the option of just hot gluing it all. I just hope there is not metal/wire expansion contraction due to weather.

Speaking of liquid tape, my experience is that it does not adhere to silicon wires.
 
i'd be inclined to use hot glue, with a heat gun or low-temperature oven to help it 'pot' well and seep in to all the gaps. That relies on the plastics being less sensitive to heat than the hot glue, but gives great results if they do.
