I have a 2007(?) iZip Street Enlightened which I'm trying to eek out another season if I can. But the battery is a pain to change since I'd have to rebuild a custom pack, and being 12 years old it doesn't have much life left in it. So to get any sort of decent range beyond a few miles I have to have it topped off right before leaving.

I keep it in a separate building so I was wondering if it would be harmful to keep the bike always plugged into the charger with it set to be on and use a smart plug to turn the power on/off at that end. This would make life a lot easier for me since I could just set it to charge a few hours after a ride and then again before heading out without having to go outside. But I just don't want to ruin what little life it has left.
