Latest generation BBSxx motors, can they still be programmed?

I read a post on the German pedelec forum, where someone mentioned that the latest generation of BBS01, BBS02 and BBSHD controllers can't be user programmed with the USB to green 5 pin Higo programming cable. Anyone know if this is true or not?

Anyone bought one manufactured this year and programmed it?

I use the standard programming cable bought from Ca ebikes to program the BBS HD and Newer Ultra 1000. Software is different but cable is the same. Got the newer software from a link on Karl's site.
