Hey there,

I'm planning on using the KDZ48400 with a Mars ME0909 motor(100a cont, 300a peak for 30 seconds). All at 48V.
I'm really confused on the connections for the KDZ48400. Here is a picture of it and link

I'm planning on using 2/0 (00 AWG) wire to connect my B+ and B- from battery to this. Distance max of 3m. Same for motor.
Here's the question: What lug do I buy to crimp onto my 00 AWG and what screws do I buy to make sure everything fits onto the controller?

I'm thinking it will be a ring-type lug like this,

The kelly controller site has no information on what screw/stud hole it is using on it's terminals. How do i find out what screw to use then?

Lastly, Is it okay to heat-shrink to cover the terminal?

I believe the holes are about 9mm wide. A M8 Bolt and Nut fits through just fine.

I personally use a vice to crimp and then solder such terminals, because I rarely work with such big ones anyways.

But if you want a more professional crimp, then Amazon has a few tools for these kinds of things: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Lug+Crimping+Tool

Also, yes you can heat shrink the terminals afterwards.

But put the uncooked heat shrink on first... It won't fit over the terminal after usually. They make adhesive lined ones too.. Very worth it for wet conditions...
You really want the crimps tight... It's surprising how much the wire will walk itself out of the terminal with repeated flexing cycles.

What diameter heat-shrink should I be looking to get if I'm using 2/0 AWG wire. I'm looking at this eBay listing
https://www.ebay.ie/itm/HEATSHRINK-2-1-TUBE-TUBING-SLEEVE-SLEEVING-HEAT-SHRINK-WRAP-CABLE-13-80MM-BLACK/322378287245

I'd go for some 4:1 heat shrink, since the wire is much thinner than the terminal plus bolt. But that's just a small detail, I'm not saying it's absolutely necessary.

There are sellers on eBay that have welding cable with the terminals already crimped on the ends. Some will do custom lengths/colors.

Search for "battery interconnect cable".
