Add 2nd connector to e-brake wire? Type of splice? How?

Hi, I've got my e-brake lever plugged into my controller, and works great. I'd like to add a second connector to also run to the Cycle Analyst. (To cancel cruise control.)

What is the most secure and durable way to do this? The cable to my controller needs to be full length. The second one only several inches, ideally joined a few inches from the brake lever.

I can solder, and see a T-Splice looks the most secure, but I won't be able to heat shrink each splice. I guess I could use electric tape for each t-splice, then heat shrink all of them together, but that seems less good.

Or just cut the cable and use a "lineman" splice with the two connectors on one side and the brake on the other?

I'm sure I'm over thinking this, lol. Thanks for the help.
Colin
