BBS02 Programming and blinking red LED

I was wondering if anybody had issues with the programming of their BBS02 unit. I managed to program it with an FTDI adapter on a couple of occasions but I think I might have damaged something on my last attempt as I unintentionally shorted a pin. Now when I short the P+ and switch pin, I get a small spark and the red LED on the rear wheel sensor is blinking red.

When I connect the display all runs fine, so no issues there but I just cant program it anymore. Any ideas what I blew up?
