BRAINSTORMING SESSION - RADICALISTS WELCOMED

Hi from Canada!

Am dreaming up a completely self-powered e-trike using three to five power source technologies. (on the same machine)

The vehicle will need to travel in difficult terrain at times, while needing speed performance on smooth surfaces.

The drive system needs to switch between torque and velocity on demand, preferably automatically; reacting to sensors.

The e-trike is recumbent design.
The system is 48 to 60 VDC power system.
Power train must switch from constant torque to constant voltage.
The e-trike must tow about 100-120 lbs.
The e-trike will support a heavy person.
The e-trike can be pedaled.

E-assist is nice to have, but system will be asked to run up to 12 hrs a day in all weather conditions, including snow in mountainous terrain. I am open to ANY IDEAS. Like even converting a wind turbine into a regenerating motor.

Am also wanting to hear about frames and suspension.

Flexible vs rigid frames.
Suspension systems. Passive magnetic levitation is an idea.
Single/double/triple drive wheels.
Ease of assembly and shipping.
Cellular, WiFi, GPS, Satellite phone.
Entertainment like Satellite radio/video.

Wind turbine would work if you always had a tailwind! Or stopped/camped.

Is there a weight design?

Hi back from Canada.

So. So far, a large bed on balloon tires... (can eat lots of sources for energy for pedaling...) With a trailer hitch. "speed performance on smooth surfaces" sounds like gearing. Might come in handy over rough terrains. (gearing up/down). Include union wages? (She'll probably want to join one...) Works only during daylight hours?... Any overtime on Sundays? She'll probably want vacations as well. Does she have to do the food shopping, cooking and cleaning as well? Probably/maybe join the Mormons. Or some obscure cult religion which permits multiple propulsion units. Any "favours" thrown in? ... and are pets involved? ... any involved in propulsion also? All starting to sound "spendy". Watts yer annual operating budget please. (Sorry if "too many" questions.)
