Hello Everyone!

I'm hoping someone can help me with this weird issue that I have.

My Bafang bike came with an Intelligent screen. I took a bad fall and broke the screen.

A cool Reddit stranger sent me a brand new screen

They both look the same. I shared the photo below.

The only difference is the connectors. My Intelligent screen is a female connector
(Look at pic) and the other one is a male connector

I decided since I can't find/have money for another screen.. I figured since they both look 100% the same that I would splice the wires and the wiring would be the same.. its not..
I do not know what wires to connect.

The old one has 5 wires - and is a intelligent ap7 800s

My new says Bafang c965 a0148 bf8.1 V5.0
black, green, white, orange and brown..

Can someone tell me what wires to cross?

Online I found specs for the old one

Red wire: Anode(24v/36v)

Blue wire: Power cord to the controller

Black wire: GND

Green wire: RxD (controller -> display)

Yellow wire: TxD (display -> controller)

Please - I might be a chick but I want to learn this and I have a feeling that it can be done - I just do not know what wires to cross, I do not want to blow anything up by crossing wrong ones..

I've never seen the old style before. Most likely the wires have similar functions, but hard to know which one does what.

Since the old display is broken, I would try to pry apart the housing to see the board where the wires attach. Many times there are labels on the board. Even if there are no labels, tracing the wires would give you a good idea for most of them.

There will be one wire that goes straight to pack voltage, one that gets switched on/off pack voltage that goes to the controller logic, one ground, one TX, one RX.

Mixing up the pack voltage wires would be bad. Mixing up the Tx and Rx should not be destructive.

Oh wait, I see you have the wire functions for the old one. The wire functions for the new one are posted around here somewhere.
Let me see if I can find it.

So if the info on the old one is correct, then it should go

OLD -- NEW

Red -- Brown
Blue -- Orange
Green -- Green
Yellow -- Yellow
Black -- Black
