I love the old guy's quote that vehicles need to be "born electric, rather than shoehorned in".

I know there is a huge shortage of mechatonic engineers at the moment, so it may take many years for the kids in uni that are just beginning to make Formula SAE electric cars and home projects to really fully become mainstream "born electric" engineers. Many of them will no doubt visit this forum.

Here in Australia, according to my brother there was only one team doing electric at the recent Formula SAE event here, and from what he described it was fat and ugly and not a well integrated design.
