Just checked the Computime results and it looks like Daniel Sailer was faster in qualifying, but only just beat Jason over the line for the race win!

The fastest lap time here last year was a 1:19, but the winning times were in the 1:15s to 1:16s.

Great effort guys! Wish I was there!

Nice update!

I wonder if the catavolt will be still using the dual enertrac and if there is any battery voltage increase since last year?

Doc

He's still got the hubbie. I just listened to the audio and it sounds like Jason either had motor trouble or ran out of juice after finishing the race.

Do you know what kind of trouble?

Doc

That's a shame that the number of competitors has decreased from last year rather than increased. (Obviously no-one took up your offer to run the Voltron, Chris!) It would be great to see half a dozen bikes on the track together.

As far as I know Catavolt is running pretty much the same configuration as last year, I saw the bike a few months back.

I know :( It made me sad just listening to the commentary, knowing that I would have been pretty close to them. I hate Wakefield Park Raceway, but at least it was dry this time around. I might see if I can get it running in time for Race Two at Queensland Raceway, but this would require a big financial impost.

:?

Actually, nah frock 'em. I'll spend the money on a much better bike instead

Jason accidentally pulled the cord tied to the emergency switch shutting off the motors tomorrow will be better and faster he did not run out of battery

I reckon we have a good race on our hands :) Will be listening to the race commentary as closely as possible!

I didn't think he would have ran out of juice, but then figured Jon might have tried to shed some weight off the bike. Danny's smack-talk is sounding a bit hollow

Great to see Jason got his own back!

And no popping those stupid lanyards this time :D

Well done, Jason, Jon, Mark. Some good lap time droppin' going on there. Hope to see them all out at the Paperclip next time.

Chris

Thanks Chris
We did it with a water cooling system Jon designed, it worked great it was a spray system triggered by heat and the blowers keep the water evaporated. With heat under control we can up the current, as the motors are still not near core saturation.

After the race without charging we still had enough battery to do three Dyno runs

All this still with Headway cells
