Bafang BBS01/Gazelle/Shimano Auto D

just bought these for my gazelle shimano auto-d dutch city bike (pictured):

bafang bbs01 mid drive 250w 36v 44t 850c with 31.5ah battery.
any advice on installation/setup? how do you attach battery to frame tube? I was informed my chain cover will be incompatible with the motor setup. do you know where to find a compatible chainguard?

If you wanted the chainguard, you bought the wrong motor.

Hopefully the battery including the mounting bracket, which attaches to the water bottle mounts. If your bike does not have water bottle mounts, then looks like you are 2 for 2.

You can have the mounts installed, if you are willing to drill holes in the frame..

If you are in flat country, you would have been better off with a hub motor and rack-mounted battery.

Beautiful bike, the battery should mount on the downtube, either on water bottle mounts, or you can use clamp-on bottle bracket mounts. The mid-drive should mount up nicely, aftermarket chain guards (if you need one) are available at lots of places. Looking forward to seeing how you put it together. Make sure to take some good before/after photos for posting here.
