Hi,

Having used this bike now for a few months, the most intriguing modification I can think of doing is to extend the range with an additional battery pack.

Right now, the bike is using 2 cheap Sealed Lead Acid 12V-12AH batteries in series in a behind the seat post battery case.

I would like to acquire 2 additional 12V-12AH SLA batteries and mount it somewhere.

Alternatively, has anyone tried to add a single 12V battery and run the existing controller on 36V (which is closer to 42v)?

Anyone fried a controller doing this?

Anyone have any ideas on what is the best place / location to mount 2 more batteries?

What about battery bags / cases?

What about balance ? Handling with the added batteries in different locations?

Anyone know of good sources of good quality 12V-12ah Gel SLAs or AGM batteries near Toronto?

Battery cases?

Thanks

I haven't checked them out yet myself, but there is a battery warehouse in Ajax called eastpenn. http://www.eastpenncanada.com/ A colleague of mine bought 2, 12V 7Ah, SLAs with charger for $74. Apparently they have other stuff too, being a battery warehouse, and they're willing to help you figure out what woudl work best for you.
