Thanks for sharing oldhippie! You have given me some things to watch out for during my installation.
I can get my bottom bracket off with no problems as I discovered yesterday while tearing down the bike to see what would be involved. The only hiccup was the crappy crank puller tool.
I've ordered a ParkTool version to replace the Bikehand POS that came with my "Pro" tool kit.
The front derailleur is not assembled with screws for the left and right side and is instead riveted.
I don't want to break the chain to get it off or saw it apart so I'll drill out the rivets for removal and find some low profile screws to refasten it together or use pull rivets should I ever wish to reverse the surgery on the bike.
The issues you had with affixing the motor to the bottom bracket has me concerned. I'll be keeping an eye for potential problems during my assembly with your story in mind.
Now, the only thing I have to do is wait a little longer for the motor to arrive.
