Hello guys.

I´m new in here and I just bought a Bafang center motor. I´m used to riding enduro motorcycles and my intention is to mount the motor on my mountainbike, to use it for single trail.

I´m used to only using the throttle from my KTM. I would like to make a semilar setup for the bafang:

- No display, only twist throttle
- No brake switches
- Simple cabling

Is it somehow possible to skip the display and connect the cables from the motor in a way that enables the use of throttle only ?

Is it correct understood that the controller itself is located in the housing of the motor ?

I hope someone with skills in this field will be able to assist me. :D

Thanks in advance.

Check out this thread https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=60375&start=100 Near the bottom of this page Kepler tells you how to do it. I had planed on doing this when I placed my BBS02 order but it turns out I like the display. I did change the controller settings for throttle only in PAS 0. Your build and riding sounds very similar to mine https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=73635. I'm very happy with the BBS02 but I just ordered the BBSHD! I think I'll be even happier with that! Here's a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXlwqQjaGhk

I just built a fat bike with a BBSHD: simple plug and play with a 100mm BB bike, no metal to be moved or removed and all wires just plugged in w/no problems. I am definitely no expert but it sure seems like the bugs are out of the BBSxx with the new HD. There seems to be a lot more thermal headroom in the HD as opposed to the BBS02..... At least mine never seems to get more than slightly warm to the touch even after a long climb in 80f weather.

I like having the display so that I can use the PAS to just cruise on roads and flat trails w/o having to touch the throttle, when I get to the fun stuff I drop down to PAS 0 and just use the throttle. W/o the display you would have to cycle through all the PAS settings(3 to 9 depending on display) to gat back to PAS 0 if you accidentally touched the wrong button or if you used the PAS on purpose.
