Hey Guys,
For those of you running Castle Creations RC style controllers, I have some good info.
I spent quite a bit of time on the phone Castle Creations over the last few days and I wanted to share what I learned;
First, the programing settings I have always used are;
Throttle...... Airplane fixed endpoint
Throttle response........ Low #2
Battery LV cutoff (custom setting)...... 40 volts for 12s lipo
Amp cutoff...... 280 amps
(Soft cutoff for all settings)
Motor start power....... Medium #5
Now, here is the advanced part;
The tech I spoke with told me to set the motor PWM rate at 12 kHz or 16khz for Astro motors and to set the timing advance at #0 (lowest setting). These two advanced settings ease the load on the FETs and make the controller run cooler. This had been a revelation for my systems.
I just wanted to pass along that info.
