Ok so I just had a bonehead moment! I was hard wiring in a set of lights into my battery which was connected to my bbshd. I touched the wires and caused a momentary short, turned on the display to check the system and it came on for a couple of seconds then cut off and won't power up now. Lights work and battery is taking a charge. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Disconnect the battery completely from the system for a few minutes (to let all the caps drain), then reconnect it and see what happens.

In the worst case you might have fried your controller. The display came on for a couple of seconds because there was some juice left in the capacitors. Good luck! I fried one in a similar way.

Ok so I let it discharge all day and switched the lights on but no dice

Guess i will be sourcing a controller,....

Don't do that until you check the battery. You might only have caused the BMS to shut down.

Try this: https://lunacycle.com/jumping-your-luna-shark-battery-pack/

As I said if I plug the charger into the battery it whirs to life and battery takes a charge and the lights work so I'm thinking the battery is good no?
