Quiet Motors

Any idea if some of the motors available right now are quiet? I guess the Cyclone is too loud. I'm not sure why they couldn't make mid-drives as quiet as hub motors.

Bafang BBS02-B 750W/48V mid-drives are very quiet. I have two of them. I believe they are one of if not the quietest mid-drive out there. Very adjustable too. IMHO for the money, they are a great choice.

I should have added that I'm looking in the 2500-3000 Watt range. Could I do anything to make a loud motor more quiet?

A BBSHD matched with a "Phaserunner" Sinewave controller. Looks as though it might do what you are hoping for.

Regardless of what motor you choose, it should run quieter using a Sinewave controller than a conventional Trapezoidal wave controller. Some people have had difficulty getting some sinewave controllers working well with some motors, others have found it easy.

Good luck with your project.
