Looking to put either a BBS02 36V or a TSDZ2 36V on my next ebike project. User will be an older gal, 150 lb, and this will be for recreational riding at no more than 15 mph. Not using a hub motor because the aluminum frame has a lot of weight saving holes/filets around the dropouts. Mid drive will give a cleaner look, easier install for me, and simplify the process with flat tires for owner and her husband. I've measured the BB at 68mm. I am used to having a throttle, this bike gets one. It will use 36V too.

My 48V BBS02 750W has been reliable. In fact, I've had no motor/electronics failures on all my motors. Bad connnectors on initial setup, maybe. No smoked components.

Am I correct in thinking the 500W 36V BBS02 will be as robust? How about the TSDZ2? I read about stiff cranks, brass gears, faulty VLCD5's.
