Can the 3-speed Shimano Nexus withstand the Cyclone 3000W?

Post by SwampDonkey » May 23 2018 9:58pm

Id like to simplify my 24spd K2 Crush's drive train. Is this worth messing with? The idea of internal gearing within the hub seems interesting, but how will it stand up to the savagery of the C3000W? I figured the 3 speed would have the largest gears within.

There's a number of existing discussions about using various IGHs with middrives, that may have useful info for you, if you're interested in a bit of poking around and reading. If not, someone else may stop by with detailed info for you.

Some specific posts here
search.php?keywords=igh+cush*&terms=all ... mit=Search
have info on avoiding some potential problems.

Also, while not everything in the list of threads linked below will be relevant, it should be mostly obvious by title which ones are.

search.php?keywords=igh&terms=all&autho ... mit=Search

Also, not all the discussions are in the list; some don't have a handy title wording to find them. :/ (can still be found by individual post searches, but that's a much bigger list with a lot less relevant stuff. :( )

Hopefully some of this helps.

Mine works fine! But I've probably only put 50 miles on the bike so far...
