BBS02 clutch bearing, lube?

HI all, after a heavy handed friend took my ebike for a short ride , on his return, the bike drivetrain would intermittently chatter under engine power, like a jumping chain, either throttle or pas. Tore motor apart, the plastic gear looks ok, except it would not let go of the motor shaft so had to pull motor off armature. All that was left suspect is the one way pawl bearing, which looks good , but did not have much if any grease in it. Is this normal? Will the bearing still grab the shaft if lubed up? No experience with this type of bearing, so ordered up a new one . Should be here shortly. Couldn't find any specifics on the bearing on searches
