i have some agni 119 lynch motors...
i was thinking to use one in a cargo bike build..
i would carry like 150 -200kg
they are rated at around 9kw cont at 48v... peak is around 18kw
they weigh 11kg and are a brushed motor
i was thinking to belt or chaln drive and use a curtis controller or similar
i have a fair few different battery options on the shelf.
has anyone used a lynch motor in a non hub drive bike project?
any thoughts...too much weight....power?
thanks james

Difficult to use one in a hub drive project; would require redesigning the motor to spin the outside instead of the axle. ;)

Weight capacity depends on the bike you convert (or build).

There are hubmotors that weigh more than the agni but produce a lot less power, so motor weight isn't necessarily a concern, as long as the frame can handle it, and if you're ever going to pedal it without power that you can still do so.

What exactly do you need it to do, on what terrain and weather, at what speeds, and distances?

How much power you get from the motor is a function of the controller and battery you use. You don't have to use as much current or voltage as the motor is rated for.
