And i am no electrical doityourself type. Perhap a knowledgable user of this site has some direction as to where i might hae success sourcing out that Samsung 36v 11.4Ah battery (used)? Or, which is the best option of all the build battery opportunities & with my limited fix it smarts thinking i should keep it in the same 36v 11.4Ah capacity....yeah? I have this dream of long, exhausting bike rides.

Actual C-rate is the hard part, make sure you verify what actual cells are in the pack you buy.

36V is very common.

Are you looking to match the box? or recycle your existing one? Or can you fit bigger?
the Ah capacity look for around the same or bigger for more range, and oomph. Much bigger, will weigh more and take more space.

Its most likely all proprietory parts, like the BionX. Best to have built a DIY ebike, then buy anything else. The kits can be plug and play. Going to online stores like www.ebikes.ca or www.em3ev.com and placing the kit on a Giant/Trek/Specialized/Rocky Mountain/Kona bicycle.

Controller is proprietory

Which means there is a high probability that the battery is the same way.

How to open the motor

at least until the battery dies. Then you're sitting on a 73-pound bicycle even Kristin Armstrong would bust a quad riding.

Good luck finding a decent stock replacement
2) forget that stock rear A2B battery, and replace it with a reputable “Shark” type pack attached under the front downtube . This will give you choices of supplier, pack capacity and voltage (big advantage) andmake the bike much nicer to ride without that big lump hanging out the back !
Tip >> if you do go with option 2, do not lose the original battery connectors...they are also impossible to source these days.

You can use just about any 36V battery for the rear. You just need to make a way to mount it and cut off the stock connector and splice on a new one that fits the new pack.

You can also run a higher voltage up to 48V for more speed.

The factory rear pack is nice but very hard to find these days.

.......maybe just throw in any old 36V battery you want

These guys still appear to offer a cell replacement/re-pack for the A2B front & rear packs - if you have the original casing etc.

Very generous with the suggestions as to rear battery options etc., for my A2B Metro. At first glance some of the replies are over my head; I'll take my time deciphering them, glean what i can and, post back to this forum with questions for clarification from your infinetly more informed selves. Thnx.
