Cyclone middrive kelly controller upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my stock 40 amp cyclone motor controller to a kelly kbs x. The connectors don't match, but is it possible to just clip the connectors from the old controller and crimp them onto a new one so it'll just be plug and play? Or is this a terrible idea?

Solder them into quick connects, don’t crimp them
