For that kinda money I better get 2. One for me and the other for my future ex, as soon as she kknows what it costs. Can't get one she would get half and half an E-bike is no good for anyone.

If they spend all that money on a carbon fiber bike frame, and want 10,000 euros for it, couldn't they have spent an extra $1 designing a battery box that doesn't look like a cheap plastic lunch box wedged in the frame?

Shhhh!! Don't look at it like that! First mover advantage and stuff and so forth...

Add another overpriced bike to the new market. With these kinds of prices everybody will want to start making them.

Nice bike. Yes they could make battey box nicer.
He says that battey is 48V 13Ah. It must be Lipo that small.

Maybe it's an expensive carbon lunchbox? It does kinda look like the old currie battery boxes. But if they filled the entire triangle with a sleek looking battery box, it would be much harder to hang on a cars bike rack.

lol Common guys!!
It's German quality ;-)
During all the presentation the guy insisted that everything was made in Germany except some few components.
Anyway concerning the frame, they are talking about a "revolutionary" (understand expensive) process which allow one "socket" for all the frame. Please don't ask me what it means I do not know it :-)
Finally I totally agree with all your remarks and again we won't drive this one.. But hey maybe the next one ;-)

If Rohloff can make a 14 speed geared hub that can handle a 1200W electric motor, why can't we get a 3 or 5 speed that can stand up to a few kw? Also, where can we get a 1200W BB motor like that? 1200W at 48 sounds great for 100V.

I'm thinking thats 1200 watt peak. that would make it a 25 amp controller with the 48V battery. So probably a 400 or 500 watt motor.

Maybe, but it's not getting to 70kph on 400-500W. Fill the triangle with batteries and go to 100V with a sprocket at the hub twice the size, and even if it is only 2.4kw peak, with a rider under 90kg and an ebike that light and with 5:1 overall gearing range, it would be a lot of fun.

:-)
they say in the description 1200W continuous with 1500W peak (yeah I know it's not a big difference). But i just can tell what THEY say ;-)
Anyway I do find that this motor is a quite elegant solution. Directly implemented in the axle of the pedal. It does look silk :-)
