AEG enters e-bike sector at Eurobike 2012 with two innovative
world novelties
AEG, one of the world´s most significant electronic brands, will enter the e-bike sector for the first
time, by launching two world novelties at the upcoming Eurobike.
Through several unique technical features AEG has fulfilled its aim of distinguishing itself
from the competition when entering the market. As part of this goal the individual system components
were specifically set up to the demands of the rider and the system integration on the bike.
Two innovative AEG drive systems
Central motor
The central motor system is equipped with a silent and maintenance free disc motor (central
motor concept), which does not require its own interface on the frame and waives the extended
wheelbase. One of the new technology´s advantages is e.g. the possibility to mount a rear wheel
hub with coaster brake without any additional technical requirements or adjustments.
Rear motor
The rear motor system uses a new manufacturing technology, which enables a significantly
smaller diameter compared to existing rear motors and in addition improves the efficiency.
The bike specific parameters remain the unchanged.
Both drive systems can be operated with a carrier or downtube battery.
A display, which is controlled through a remote control developed by haptic experts, rounds out
both systems in a trendy smartphone look.
The first bikes with the disc motor drive system will be available in bicycle stores starting from the
middle of 2013. The rear motor model will follow shortly after.
