Chainless Challenge

My understanding is that hydraulics are more "lossy" than modern sprocket and chain. Some advantages maybe, but efficiency not one of them? `Spect there are ways to "shift gears" w/hydraulics but dunno. Wonder how the $25,000 in prize money is spread over seven categories... evenly? Guess an entrant could win in multiple categories?
