New for 2018, the company has introduced the Typhoon Pro, an e-bike with similarly stellar stats and a focus on off-road riding.

Major changes announced at Batribike:
http://www.bikebiz.com/index.php/news/r ... ike/022487

Starts:
A new company called Batribike Ltd has been formed by the creators of the Batribike brand and Pro-Movec.

The move will allow the company to take advantage of Pro-Movec’s research and development department, which it says will facilitate“offering a larger portfolio of products, more favourable purchasing power and potentially gaining a foothold in other markets.”

Whilst new company is co-owned by the Coulson family and by Jesper Lundqvist CEO of Pro-Movec, Batribike will continue to produce its existing European built range of electric bikes.
... and:
These e-bikes use the Pro-Movec electrics system with motor, battery, controller and display all paired.

Batribike and Pro-Movec each have over ten years experience in producing electric bikes and e-bike technology.

SF Weekly is San Francisco's smartest publication. That's because we take journalism seriously, but not so seriously that we let ourselves be guided by an agenda. In fact, we cherish our political independence: We've taken on the powerful unions that helped elect the leftist majority on the Board of Supervisors and the downtown business interests that financed the campaigns of former Mayor Gavin Newsom.
Ford GoBike To Launch Electric Fleet in S.F.
("The company just announced an e-bike pilot program, to add to its already contentious bike-share system."):
http://www.sfweekly.com/news/ford-gobik ... et-in-s-f/

Ends:
Renting Ford GoBikes usually costs $9.95 for the day or $3 for the first 30 minutes of a single ride, which can be paid through Clipper cards. Like the regular bikes, users can find the new e-bikes through Ford’s GoBike app.

Since it launched, Motivate says its more than 2,600 bikes at 262 stations have generated more than half a million rides. It expects to have 7,000 bikes at 546 stations at the end of 2018.

Those funny Walloons...

(They say:)
The Brussels Times is Belgium’s premier daily online newspaper in English. Our mission statement is to provide expats, foreigners and internationally oriented Belgians with Belgian news and opinion pieces in order to help them understand what is happening in the capital of Europe, on a local level. We have no political affiliation and seek to present the news fair-mindedly and offer a wide range of analysis and opinion pieces about ebikes and stuff.
Seven out of ten Walloons never use pubic transport:
http://www.brusselstimes.com/belgium/99 ... -transport

Starts:
In Wallonia, nearly 70% of the population did not take pubic transport at any point during 2017.
This emerges from the sixth national investigation for INsécurité Routière produced by the institute Vias on Monday. The Flemish are far more more numerous in using pubic transport or travelling by bike than the Walloons, whilst the car is King of the road everywhere in the country.
Includes:
On average, 81% of Belgian citizens drove a car at least once last year, according to Vias, the former Belgian institute for road safety, which surveyed more than 6,200 people. More than 40% took pubic transport at least once, with 46% taking the bike and 10% the electric bike. However the investigation shows these figures hide major disparities between geographical areas, including the findings for each province for the first time.
 8)

Taxpayers Revolt!

Image
(Wiki:)
The Riverine Herald publishes Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for circulation throughout both the Shire of Campaspe in Victoria and Murray Shire in New South Wales.
... and:
New South Wales (abbreviated as NSW) is a state on the east coast of Australia. It borders Queensland to the north, Victoria to the south, and South Australia to the west. Its coast borders the Tasman Sea to the east. The Australian Capital Territory is an enclave within the state. New South Wales' state capital is Sydney, which is also Australia's most populous city. In March 2017, the population of New South Wales was over 7.8 million, making it Australia's most populous state. Just under two-thirds of the state's population, 4.67 million, live in the Greater Sydney area. Inhabitants of New South Wales are referred to as New South Welshmen.
On your bike V/Line, it’s all too expensive:
http://www.riverineherald.com.au/2018/0 ... -expensive

Starts:
GRAEME Wilson is facing a battle against V/Line services to use public transport services.

In an open letter to newspapers and local government, Graeme expressed his issues with the services.

“I am an 80-year-old pensioner in fair health, however I find it difficult to do much walking either in Echuca or my home town of Tongala,” he wrote.
Includes:
“The trouble is when I go on the bus to Echuca and it has its drop-off point at the Echuca railway station, I then need to go to the Op Shops on the Murray Valley Highway or to Bunnings and it’s too far for me to walk.

“So I have to catch a taxi, which is $10-12 each trip. A single day trip can cost up to $110.

“As a sensible solution to this — I have resorted to an electric bicycle.”
