Im a long time member and builder and I recently decided to try to put some of my knowledge and opinions in audio form and create podcast that you can listen to when you are on you way to work.. on break.. in the background while working on projects. Some of them are short some of them are long. Some have a lot of indepth information, full of fact, and a lot of opinion. I started out talking to myself on various topics and now I'm getting a few long time members on board as guest to talk and bounce conversation off of and get some information on member projects and any associated businesses. The more casts I do the better the production value with be. But for right now is pretty much off the cuff and as scripted as I try to be it's not, no fluff, no bullshit, I tell it like it is. In the cast I know I say Im trying to keep them short but you just cant sometimes because the information and conversation cant be condensed. I may try to split into smaller segments and let you download or play part A- B- C and so on... Give me ideas and Ill try to do my best to step my game up and production quality. Im not a great speaker but over time I'm learning to get rid of the awkward pauses as I speak. Its more prominent when I'm talking to myself vs other people so please don't but my balls on that.=P

Nice work Ice!

Everyone learns in different ways so podcasts can help add another dimension for better understanding.

I had a short listen & think your podcast voice & presentation is good - clear and easily understood.

Hope you keep making them!

Im havin fun listening to your podcasts :) .

Looking for feedback and anyone that wants to be a guest. Im looking to atleast compressing the downloadable cast to a smaller format. I may consider chopping them up into smaller versions nut the conversation flows pretty well with the guests. Good thing about streaming it on you tube it picks back up where you left off. Looking at doing ebike product reviews on small products and give a yay or nay on it and sell it at a discount to keep getting product to buy. If there isnt a better intret shown then I might have to top. It is time consuming. I also think if I make them around the 20-30 minute mark or even less than an hour mark things will be rushed.. opinions things could get biased if there isnt a challenging opinion. Alot of thing could get left out an it wont be as thorough as it could be.

Alot of people may enjoy talking with you about their bikes, projects, or maybe completely random stuff! Alot of people are watching the 'casts or 'hangouts' on youtube, and imo it's not that hard to convert to all audio as well, if many people are using that.

Some of the other homegrown companies may also want to talk about their products and experiences too, maybe to gain even more exposure. There's gotta be a dozen of those, and that's ruling out direct competitors, not that they wouldn't wanna participate.

I saw some of your other videos, and this seems to be something you'd be good at, but do it because you want to man, you know what I mean?

I'd be most definitely interested in (even short) interview/skype guests like justin_le, LiveForPhysics, Spinningmagnets, Thud, Artur, etc...on the state of the EV-movement, technologies, developments, ideas, etc.

Nothing is short about these interview cast. We get side track on EV related tangents.. I have two more casts that Im editing up. One is with the owner of Calibike - rafeh1 on the forum and another one with Alan Hu - evolutiongts.

Ive listened to 3 of your podcasts, and im diggin them.. :)

Just did a cast with the owner of Golden Motor Canada.. Short at a little over 1 hour but awesome guy. Cant wait to edit that one up.

Google hangouts is also a great way to have skype-like discussion (up to 10people) and stream live through youtube, or record and upload after.

I watch a live youtube stream every sunday called "Hash Church" and the google hangout provides a great way for multiple guests to chat with each other.

You could have it stream live every week and have an invited guest or two and then post the link for random people to join the discussion.

Just throwing out ideas :)
So far I've listened to a couple and they're great - though can always get better.

Episode #9 is available. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYPz1TueP9s&feature=youtu.be
Spoke with Alan Hu or better known as Evolutiongts. We talked about his race bike project, Sabvoton controllers, Mongoose Mini Moto Conversion, the future of EV vehicles, and vaporware dream projects.

Ive also offered compressed compressed cast downloads on my One Drive that are 32kbs 44.1khz Which reduced the file size to nearly an 1/8th of what they were before vs the 192k bitrate.

I myself very much appreciate these podcasts. They are perfect listening for working on ebikes. I got answers to things I was wondering about and things I had not thought about yet.
I like your take on battery use and your method of prolonging battery life by using a large capacity pack and not stressing it nearly as much. Now I want seven 16.0 Multistar 6s2p batteries(1 spare). That really does seem to be the best battery setup for the least money. The 2p and therefore double the c rating of the 16.0 batteries is something I had not thought about. Valid education there.
I enjoyed your explanation of speeds 2(3000w limit) and 3(unlimited) on your bike, and the heat production vs. efficiency of the MXUS 3000 4t for the two different power levels. ( I have a 4t on my almost done GT LTS3 build).
I have watched many of your videos and know that you have personal experience running 9c, Magic Pie, BMC, 8fun BBS002 and MXUS 3000 and probably more.
To sum up...I am enjoying these casts as much as your many Icecube578 channel videos. Thank you for sharing your experience. Now on to the interview casts....yeah

It's kinda brutal only hearing one side of the conversation :(

Interviews/conversations pick up around Podcast # 7 Its really hard to talk to yourself. It was a relief to start talking to other people about things.

You must be using a phone that favors 1 ear channel or ear piece. Ill see what I can do to fix or mix the channels

Ya but in the YouTube I only hear the guest. Is it same on downloads??

People keep asking you questions back to you but I don't ever hear your answers.

The first few podcasts with a guest caller I had stereo recording enabled to where it simulated the caller on the left channel and me on the right channel so when we were talking it appears in your mind that there is a conversation going back and forth. I noticed this and in the later casts I started to record in mono so it mixed both channels into one track. On my computer it sounds fine but playback on a cellphone with a single ear bud you are only getting 1 channel. But cast #10 and 11 wont have this issue and the audio will be mixed.

Go on my One drive and download the LQ cast. These are the ones I just recently compressed and they have 1 channel mono mixed audio. But again i said in the previous message that cast #10 onward shouldnt have this issue as you mentioned because I changed the setting in the recording software.

I've been using one ear bud off my computer
I'll try the downloads

Edit: Sounds great on the TV. Tried it again on phone too...I can confirm my problem was single ear bud

Episode 10 is out on youtube and my One Drive.

Episode # 10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?=YaNqkoOfE4k
Talked to Rafe Husain the owner of Calibike. We talked about his company, quality control of chinese vendors, his 40lbs 40 mph 40 miles bike, his plans for a 30lbs 30 mph 30 mile bike concept and different ways to come to those specs. Also something that I plan on doing to accomplish some things without asking the forum directly for support is non-skippable ads. I would like to use the money from this to buy products to review.Yay or Nay?

With the length of the content that you have, a non skip able ad at the beginning wouldn't bother me.
I hate the videos that have ads all the way through them though...skipable or not

It's not unfair to attempt to generate revenue!
I also think it's not unfair to use adblock though.
The one thing that's unfair is all these damn inhuman corporations bleeding us all dry in the first place. The ads EVERYWHERE are a big joke imo- not even necessary to begin with, they already got the world by it's balls lol.
Go for it Icecube, it's not any different than renting a house to someone, or doing a 9-5. Best!
