HI guys, first time here. Just built up an electric mountain bike, and cant get enough. I was an avid mountain biker for years and was able to pick up a Bafang BBS-02 2nd hand from a family member.

This is the finished product:

Here's a video of some riding I did at Farmington Reservoir, a good mix of paved, fireroads, single track, and technical:

There's a shorter 4 minute edit of this uploading as well. I'll post links when it's done.

Nice! I'm working on a similar build now.

Wow. Looks good. Very nice and clean build. And it blends in with other bikes.

Was going to say I envied you guys that have such nice smooth single track to ride. But then I got to the middle of the 4 min vid.

Welcome to the nuthouse. I need to try the BBso2, I think it would be particularly good for riding when you just want assist for pedaling on very tough trails . It gets very tempting to stop pedaling when riding hubmotors. But the hubbie sure is fun on a high speed dirt road.

Thanks guys. Yes the BBS - 02 is very good for single track because you can get it low enough to get through most of that stuff with pedal assist. I prefer to only use assist level one or two or even none when going through the technical stuff, but you need to hack the controller to shut down the pedal assist faster when you stop pedaling. Otherwise you can get into some tricky situations where you don't want to go forward and the bike does.
