question about kw rating for kelly controllers

Post by dhmillertime » Oct 18 2015 12:58am

I was looking at kelly controllers to mate with new sensored c80110. A kls6040s is spec'd at <4kw but can handle 60v and 175A continous. A keb48601 however, is a 6kw controller that handles the same 60v but 140A continous. Why isnt the math adding up? Is there something else going on besides volt*amps=kw? I would prefer the quieter kls series but also want use the full power of the 6kw motor.

you are right, that would be a bad rating. Could you share a link with full specs of each one?
