Any Programable, CA compatible sinewave controllers?

Post by Cowardlyduck » Nov 19 2015 6:13am

Hi All,

I've searched around, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for and am beginning to wonder if it even exists?

I like my programmable Infineon EB3 based controllers because I can use my CA and I can program them with my USB cable. I would make all my E-Bikes have an Adaptto if it didn't cost so much, but it doesn't work that way unfortunately.

What I'm after (if it exists) is the exact same as a standard EB3 Infineon controller, but with Sinewave capability. I want to make my commuter silent, and recycle it's current 6 Fet Infineon on another E-Bike project.

Does such a thing exist?
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would most appreciated.

Cheers

Well, AFAIK there haven't been any Infineon-MCU-based controllers made in a long time (years), so it's unlikely that even if they start making them again in sinewave versions, that they'd be compatible with any software you still have.

The programming cables are probably compatible (with an adapter for wiring order on the controller pads or cable) with just about any serial-port-input type, but there's no guarantee of that, either. :(

Thanks Amberwolf.
Maybe Infineon is the wrong term...

I'm just after the sine wave equivalent of this or similar:
http://em3ev.com/store/index.php?route= ... duct_id=77
Image
With the standard bells and whistles of a 3 speed switch and regen, etc.

And I want to be able to program it with this:
http://em3ev.com/store/index.php?route= ... uct_id=101
Image
Which I already have. I use the XPD software.

And I want to be able to use my existing CA V2.3.

I would forego the programing ability if it had pre-programed decent phase amps limit...50A+.

Or am I overlooking something else that would fill these requirements?

Cheers

So I changed the title of this thread to "Any Programable, CA compatible sinewave controllers?" as I realised this is really all I'm after.

I don't care if it's Infineon based....I just need to be able to program my desired phase, regen, 3 speed switch limit's and plug in my CA.

I still can't find anything like this. Closest I've found is a few sinewave controllers on Alibaba that look like the EB3 equivalents, but are not programmable, and do not have 3 speed switch plugs, etc.

Cheers

I was gonna suggest the Phaserunner, but I can't find specific info calling it a sinewave controller, so maybe it isn't. :?

Still, posts abotu results with it vs other controllers suggest it is quieter.

It's also worth noting that, so far as I know, pretty much any controller can have a cycle analyst connector added to it.

Thanks for the suggestions guy's.

Adding a CA to a non-CA controller is a bit beyond my time and skill abilities.

The Phaserunner is a FOC controller, and does actually look like a good option. It's a bit pricey, so if I may do a bit more searching, but does look like a potentially good option.
Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Only pricey from the weakness of the Australian Dollar. I bought one a while back. It's an amazing piece of kit, it runs silent, power delivery is so smooth, and there's so many options to program it. 100% recommend.
eBike: Q100H on 16S with Phaserunner FOC Controller
eMotorscooter: Vectrix VX-1 on 36S
eCar: Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV... Waiting for warranty to expire
eHouse: 5.5kw On-grid solar with battery backup coming soon!

After 5 builds, the best advice I can give, is start with high quality products. I prefer http://www.ebikes.ca
